PROJECTS
NARRANDO was a partner in the Horizon 2020 RISE project “Graphene 3D” (2017–2022), Multifunctional Graphene-Based Nanocomposites with Robust Electromagnetic and Thermal Properties for 3D-Printing Applications. The project focused on developing polymer nanocomposites containing carbon nanomaterial fillers, optimized for 3D-printing applications.
NARRANDO was also a partner in the Campania Region technology-transfer project “Antimicrobial Nanocrystalline Coated Systems”, carried out within the Clean Sky programme. The project focused on innovation in anticorrosive and antimicrobial coatings (2017–2019).
NARRANDO contributed to the fight against SARS-CoV-2 by developing products for the antimicrobial and antiviral treatment of rigid and flexible surfaces, including plastics, glass, and natural and synthetic fabrics. The activities were conducted in collaboration with a Southern Italian company specializing in interior coverings for buses, trains, and cars.
NARRANDO contributed to the development of a project for the recycling of post-consumer hygiene products, including diapers and feminine hygiene products. The project led to the construction of the world’s first industrial plant of its kind. These activities have recently resumed through a new consortium led by DiSeTCom as part of the i-Foria project.
NARRANDO developed a selective hydrogenation catalyst for vegetable oils capable of producing oleic acid with no trans-isomer content. The related Italian patent was granted to NextChem on 26 November 2021, PCT/IB2020/061966.
NARRANDO provided process-innovation consulting for the depolymerization of post-consumer PET within the Horizon 2020 DEMETA project.
NARRANDO provided scientific consulting to an Italian company on the use of bamboo as a sustainable alternative to wood and paper for food-packaging applications.
Since 1 December 2021, NARRANDO has been a partner in the Horizon 2020 RISE project DiSeTCom, Dirac Semimetals-Based Terahertz Components.
NARRANDO provides scientific consulting to a US company on the characterization and applications of bacterial cellulose.
NARRANDO collaborates with NATUREBEADS, which has developed a process for producing cellulose microspheres as an alternative to conventional plastic microbeads and a solution to microplastic pollution.
NARRANDO provides technical and economic consulting for the design of an electrified reactor for hydrogen production through dry reforming.
NARRANDO provides technical and economic consulting for the development of the first Italian battery and supercapacitor manufacturing facility in the Campania region.
NARRANDO collaborates with the EBRIS Foundation, the European Biomedical Research Institute of Salerno, on the study of organic synthesis processes for producing active pharmaceutical ingredients through electrochemical reactions. The collaboration also includes the development of nanocarriers for controlled drug delivery activated by physical stimuli such as infrared and ultraviolet radiation, magnetic fields, and ultrasound.
NARRANDO recently contributed to the publication of three De Gruyter volumes on hydrogen, authoring three chapters as well as the introduction and conclusions.
NARRANDO provided consulting services to Nippon Gases in the field of bioplastics produced from CO₂.
